Biography:
Ted James Rule was born in Marshalltown and a 1961 graduate of Crestwood High School in Cresco. He attended Iowa State University in the ROTC program for three years before going active duty in the Army. He graduated from Ranger school in Fort Benning, GA in October 1968 before being sent to Vietnam. 1LT Rule was killed on November 29, 1968 due to gunshot wounds to the neck. With relatives residing in Waterloo, Rule’s body was buried at Garden of Memories in Waterloo.
