Dennis Lee Weber

Dennis Lee Weber was raised in Mechanicsville and attended the local school district. He joined the Marine Corps at the age of 17 in November 1964. After completing basic and advanced infantry training, PFC Weber was sent to Vietnam in September 1965. He was serving with the 3rd Marine Division as a rifleman south of Danang. PFC Weber arrived in Vietnam during the rainy monsoon season. His unit was ordered to participate in Operation Harvest Moon, the first major Marine operation during the war. On December 9, 1965 PFC Weber was killed by fragmentation wounds to the face and chest. He was 18 years old at the time of his death. His body was buried at Rose Hill Cemetery in Mechanicsville.
