Biography:
Tommy Edward Antrim grew up in rural Oneida and he attended the Maquoketa Valley School District. He volunteered in the Marine Corps in July 1965 and trained in field artillery. SGT Antrim was was sent to Vietnam in July 1967 and was assigned to the 3rd Marine Division in the Quang Tri Province. In 1968 as part of the coordinated Tet Offensive, the combat base at Khe Sanh was attacked by the enemy. The base was surrounded for several months during the first half of 1968. On February 8, 1968 SGT Antrim was killed during an enemy rocket attack. He was 19 years old at the time of his death. His body was buried at the Silver Creek Cemetery in Manchester.
