Biography:
Thomas Buddi grew up in the Sioux City area. He joined the Army and was trained as a MACV-Military Assistance Command Vietnam and worked with MAC 43. Wounded in early 1970, he returned to his command working in the Bien Hoa region. While on patrol, his unit was fired upon and Buddi was killed. The official response initially was hostile fire, but the Des Moines Register later reported his family had been informed the fire came from friendly forces. He was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor. He was married and had a daughter. He was buried in Cavalry Cemetery in Omaha.
