Biography:
Albert Dean Foster was raised in Muscatine County. He attended Muscatine High School for some time and participated on the swim team. He later graduated from the Morning Sun High School outside of Muscatine. He entered the service in 1956. Foster served in France and Korea. He completed a full tour in Vietnam from December 1965 to December 1966 before volunteering for a second tour in 1968. SGT Foster was killed in May 1969 when the vehicle he was aboard overturned on Hill 245. Foster left behind a wife and three sons. His body was buried in Maynard, MA, where he had made his home with his family.
