Biography:
Allen Eugene Duneman was raised in Magnolia in the far western county of Harrison. He joined the Army Reserves and trained as a helicopter pilot. Duneman flew UH-1H Huey helicopter while in Vietnam. Warrant Officer (WO) Duneman deployed to Southeast Asia in May 1968 and served in the 1st Aviation Brigade. WO Duneman died on November 27, 1968 while on an operation in the Tay Ninh Province, South Vietnam. His chopper crashed and burned, killing Duneman and the rest of the five-man crew. His body was recovered and returned to the United States. He was buried at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minnesota. He left behind a wife and a daughter. Duneman was 25 years old at the time of his death.
