Clifford Dale Nelson

Cliff Nelson grew up in rural Pottawattamie County between Crescent and Council Bluffs. He joined the Army in 1951 and worked his way through Officer Training School. He was attached to Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 60th Infantry as Operations and Training Staff officer. Major Nelson arrived in Vietnam in May 1967. He died on July 25th from a non-hostile involved heart attack. He was married with two daughters and was buried in Highland Memory Gardens in Des Moines.
