Biography:
Colin Keith Hipkins was born in Saint Louis, MO. He graduated from Francis Hower High School in 1966 where he held a record of one thousand push-ups as part of President Kennedy’s physical fitness program. After graduation Hipkins moved to Van Horne with his family. He then enlisted in the Marine Corps. LCPL Hipkins died on September 6, 1967 from fragmentation wounds he suffered to his entire body while on a military operation in Quang Tin Province. His body was buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in Saint Louis, MO. He was 18 years old at the time of his death.
