Biography:
Dale Eugene Grant grew up in Des Moines. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1967 and arrived in Vietnam in November of the same year. Corporal Grant served with the Headquarters Battery, 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment. He operated a radio with a forward observer team in the Quang Tri Province. His death came on May 25, 1968 during hostile action during Operation Scotland II, part of the larger Battle of Khe Sanh. He was buried in the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield.
