Daniel Boone Fell

Daniel Boone Fell graduated from Des Moines Technical High School. The draftee was married and had a daughter when he was sent to Vietnam in August 1969. SP4 Fell served 11 of his 12 months overseas when he was killed. He died on July 19, 1970 while on guard duty. SP4 Fell was mistaken for an enemy and fired upon by a fellow soldier. He was wounded and died from his injuries. The 21-year-old’s body was returned to Des Moines and buried at the Glendale Cemetery.
