Biography:
Daniel Jerome Hilton of Cedar Falls enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1967. He arrived in Vietnam on March 21, 1968. His battalion supported an amphibious force around Danang in the Quang Nam Province, South Vietnam. On September 25, 1968 LCPL Hilton was killed in action by shrapnel wounds when the truck he was driving detonated a 40 lb. mine along Highway 1. A memorial was held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls and his body was buried at the Garden of Memories in Waterloo.
