Biography:
Daryl David Shonka was born on August 28, 1949 in Fort Dodge. On August 5, 1970 his unit encountered North Vietnamese forces in Quang Tin Province, South Vietnam. CPL Shonka was killed in action at the age of 20. His body was buried in Corpus Christi Cemetery in Fort Dodge.
