Biography:
David Bruce Anderson was raised in Avoca in Pottawattamie County. PFC Anderson was deployed to South Vietnam on January 11, 1968 and stationed as a rifleman with the 3rd Marine Division at Khe Sanh. He was present as the Marine base came under siege during the Tet Offensive of 1968. On March 30 PFC Anderson was killed from fragmentation wounds to the head from hostile mortar fire during the battle. He was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor. His body was buried at Graceland Cemetery in Avoca.
