Biography:
David Harold Mueller grew up in Clayton County and graduated from Garnavillo High School in the class of 1963. He was drafted by the Army and trained as a radio teletype operator. SP4 Mueller was sent to South Vietnam in early October 1966. After one week overseas, SP4 Mueller died. He drowned while learning to swim. Mueller was 21 years old at the time of his death. His body was returned to Iowa and buried at the Garnavillo Community Cemetery.
