Biography:
David Henry Paulsen grew up in Waterloo and was a member of the Boy Scouts before he joined the Marine Corps in 1965. PFC Paulsen was killed in Vietnam on Saturday, November 12, 1966 by fragments from an explosion while in a 1st Marine Division defensive position near Danang. A memorial service was held at the Zion American Lutheran Church and he was buried at Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery.
