Biography:
PFC David Lee Davis enlisted with the Marine Corps shortly after graduating from West High School in Waterloo in 1968. While in school he was a grocery stock boy at a local supermarket. Davis was killed in action as a result of a wound to the head from hostile small arms fire on March 20, 1969 in Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam. He had been in Vietnam for one month and two days at the time of the incident. Davis was buried at the Garden of Memories in Waterloo.
