Biography:
David Michael Hartogh attended and graduated from the Waterloo Columbus High School in the class of 1968. He entered the Marine Corps on November 26, 1968 and was sent to Vietnam in May. CPL Hartogh was stationed with the 1st Marine Division as a moratarman. He was killed on Sunday, September 7, 1969 only three days after turning 19 years old from enemy small arms fire. He was buried in the Mt Olivet Cemetery in Waterloo.
