Dennis Michael Skogerboe

Dennis Michael Skogerboe grew up on a farm in the Forest City area. He was known as a hard worker and nice kid. After graduation he attended Black Hills State College in Spearfish where he rode rodeo bulls to cover his college costs. He joined the Army, completed Officer Candidate School and was deployed to Vietnam August 2, 1969 as part of the 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry. 2LT Skogerboe was killed while in transit to a defensive position on August 24th in Hau Nghia Province. He was survived by his wife Nancy and was buried in Madison Cemetery in Forest City.
