Donald Paul McGrane

Donald Paul McGrane of Waverly died on July 19, 1967 while on a rescue mission with the Navy. He was part of a four man crew from the USS HORNET, whose helicopter was hit by enemy fire while searching for a downed pilot in North Vietnam. All four Americans died in the incident. Partial remains of the crew were located in 1982 and returned to the family for burial. Additional remains of the crew members were identified in 2013 and buried together at Arlington National Cemetery.
