Biography:
A kind and gentle kid, he attended junior college for a year after graduating from high school in Hampton. He trained as a musician (trombone) but entered the Army In October 1969 not wanting to wait for the draft. He trained in linguistics in Germany before being sent to Vietnam in mid-1970. Specialist 5th Class Van Every monitored the radio for enemy intelligence for the 335th Radio Research Company, part of the Army Security Agency. He was killed June 1st in a non-hostile generated accident. He was buried in Hampton Cemetery.
