Biography:
Eugene John George Kock was born in Breda and graduated from Ar-We-Va High School in the class of 1966 in Westside. Kock joined the Army on November 1, 1967. He arrived in Vietnam in early June of the following year serving as a sergeant in the 173rd Airborne Division. On March 22, 1969 SGT Kock was on a mission when he was killed by friendly fire. The shots were directed at the enemy near the Binh Dinh Province in South Vietnam. A funeral service for Kock took place at Saint Ann’s Catholic Church in Vail and he was buried at Saint Ann’s Cemetery nearby. He was engaged at the time of his death, leaving behind his fiancé.
