Major [O-4]
Biography:
Gary Bernard Scull grew up in Harlan before joining the Army. While in Vietnam he was serving as an adviser to South Vietnamese forces south of Khe Sanh near the Laotian border. During a night time attack on March 12, 1970, his bunker took a direct hit and burned. Over the next six hours the outpost was abandoned and then retaken, but Scull was not seen nor any remains found despite several searches.
