Biography:
Gary Lynn Williams grew up in Hillsdale and Glenwood and graduated from Glenwood High School in 1965. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in October and left for Vietnam in March 1966. He served in an antitank assault unit with the 1st Battalion, 9th Marines. PFC Williams was killed on August 7, 1966 by sniper fire while on patrol at the Liberty Bridge near Danang. He was buried in Malvern Cemetery.
