Biography:
Gerald George Rosenbaum of Waucoma received his education from Turkey Valley High School in Jackson Junction. He was drafted into the Army in November 1966 and began his tour in Vietnam in April 1967. SP4 Rosenbaum was stationed at the military headquarters in Pleiku as a member of the 4th Infantry Division. He was reported missing on March 1, 1968, two months before he was to return home. It was later found that SP4 Rosenbaum had died due to wounds he suffered during an enemy attack. A funeral service and burial for the 20-year-old took place at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church and Cemetery in Waucoma.
