Biography:
Glenn Arthur Adams grew up in Indianola in Warren County. Adams was married with 3 children, 2 sons and a daughter, when he was killed in 1970. While in the Army, Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) Adams was a helicopter pilot. He deployed to Vietnam in November 1969. On May 12, 1970 CWO Adams was a co-pilot of a UH-1H Huey Helicopter when it was fired upon by the enemy. The chopper crashed and burned near Pleiku, killing all 10 occupants. The incident garnered particular attention as one of the killed passengers was a Major General from California. CWO Adams was buried at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery in Kansas.
