Biography:
Harry Adelbert Barber grew up in Moulton before he joined the Army. He intended to make a career in the military. Barber’s father and brothers all served in the military. He was trained as a combat engineer and was serving a second tour in Southeast Asia when he was killed. SGT Barber died on July 9, 1968 from a sniper’s bullet near Danang. He was 21 years old and married at the time of his death. Barber’s body was returned to Iowa and buried at the Oakland Cemetery in Moulton.
