James Phillip Schimberg

James Phillip Schimberg of Cedar Rapids was a graduate of Regis High School in the class of 1960. He graduated from Loras College in 1964 and was then drafted into the Army. SP4 Schimberg went missing in January 1966 when the helicopter he was on crashed over Phu Yen Province during a night reconnaissance mission. His remains were identified in 1998, and it was concluded that he died on January 10, 1967. SP4 Schimberg’s remains were buried in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
