Biography:
Lamoni native John Frank Baldwin was killed on January 13, 1969 in South Vietnam. He served as an aircraft maintenance apprentice in the 11th Aviation Group in the 1st Air Cavalry. He was sent to South Vietnam in May 1967 and was stationed in the Binh Duong Province. SP4 Baldwin’s death was an accident. He inadvertently entered a mine field and was killed. Baldwin was 19 years old at the time of his death. His body was buried in Lamoni.
