Biography:
John Joseph WiIson from Davenport served as a Captain in the Army with the 101st Aviation Battalion, 101st Airborne Division. On December 16, 1970, while on his second tour, Captain Wilson was killed during an ambush in Thua Thien Province while checking individual troop positions and was mistaken for enemy forces. He was survived by his wife and his two daughters and buried at the Rock Island Arsenal Cemetery in Rock Island, Illinois.
