Biography:
Kenneth Keith Hutton was born June 15, 1934 in Barnes City, IA to Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Hutton. Kenneth, better known as Keith by family and friends, was a 1952 graduate of Oskaloosa High School. He entered into the Air Force the day after his graduation in May 1952. Tech Sergeant Hutton was assigned to the 3902nd Support Squadron of the 3902nd Air Base Wing Strategic Air Command. Prior to deployment he lived with his wife and two children in Roswell, NM. The unit arrived in South Vietnam in September 1967 and was stationed at Tan Son Nhut Air Base outside of Saigon. On February 24, 1968 his position was attacked by the enemy. He was in his barracks when the building received direct mortar fire. TSGT Hutton and at least three others were killed instantaneously during the bombardment. Services were held on March 2, 1968 at the Montezuma Methodist Church. The 33-year-old Hutton was laid to rest at the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma.
