Kenneth Wayne Tucker

Kenneth Wayne Tucker was raised in Marshalltown and graduated from Marshalltown High School in the class of 1969. After school he joined the Army and trained as an infantryman. He started his tour in South Vietnam in May 1970 and served with the 12th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division. With less than 100 days left in his tour, CPL Tucker was killed on February 15, 1971. His unit encountered an enemy force southwest of Phuoc Vinh City, South Vietnam. He was killed by small arms fire along with one other American. Tucker was 21 years old at the time of his death. His body was buried at the Davenport Memorial Park.
