Larry Allen Garrison

Larry Allen Garrison of Council Bluffs attended Woodrow Wilson Junior High School and enlisted in the Marine Corps shortly after as a photographer. On July 17, 1968 PVT Garrison was killed during his first month in Vietnam. He suffered gunshot wounds to his back and right arm while involved in a firefight against enemy forces near Quang Tri Combat Base. A funeral service was held at Holy Family Catholic Church and his body was buried at Ridgewood Cemetery, both located in Council Bluffs. PVT Garrison was 18 years old at the time of his death.
