Biography:
Larry Gene Gosch was a 1964 graduate of Allerton-Clio-Lineville High School and attended Indian Hills Community College in Centerville before transferring to Northeast Missouri State University. Gosch planned to be a history teacher upon finishing his military service. After completing his education he was drafted by the Army. SGT Gosch was sent to South Vietnam in November 1968 and was assigned to the 25th Infantry Division in the Tay Ninh Province. He died on June 6, 1969 during a firefight with the enemy. He sustained multiple fatal fragmentation wounds. The 23-year-old’s body was returned to Iowa and buried at the Evergreen Cemetery in Wayne County.
