Biography:
Mark Larson grew up in the Council Bluffs area. He entered the Army right out of high school and began his tour in Vietnam on July 14, 1970. Larson served with 3rd Battalion, 1st Infantry of the Americal Division in Quang Ngai Province. His death came on November 22, 1970 while on patrol near the base airfield when a booby-trapped mortar round exploded. Private First Class Larson was survived by his widow and was buried in Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
