Biography:
Waterloo native Mark Allen Ellsworth graduated West High School in 1965 before attending Iowa State University in Ames. He joined the Army in April 1967 and deployed to Vietnam that December. SGT Ellsworth was killed on September 25, 1968 in Tam Ky, South Vietnam. His remains were returned to Waterloo and buried at Elmwood Cemetery with full military honors.
