Biography:
Michael J. Utter from Davenport, Iowa began his tour in Vietnam on January 10, 1967. A helicopter pilot with 1st Squadron, 9th Calvary, Warrant Officer Utter was injured when the helicopter he was piloting was hit by small arms fire and crashed on November 19, 1967 in Binh Dinh Province, South Vietnam. He died from his wounds two days later on November 21, 1967. Described as a quiet, peaceful man by friends, WO1 Utter left behind a three-year old son. He was buried in Memorial Park Cemetery in Davenport, Iowa.
