Michael Leo Heller

Michael Leo Heller was from Dunlap, IA where he graduated from Dow City High School. Shortly after graduation, Heller enlisted in the Army and ultimately achieved the rank of Private First Class. PFC Heller started his tour in Southeast Asia in January 1970 when he became an infantryman in the Americal Division. On February 20, 1970, PFC Heller was killed in action during Operation Frederick Hill in Quang Tin Province, South Vietnam. He was 19 years old at the time of his death. His body was buried at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dunlap.
