Michael Terry Boat

Michael Terry Boat was killed on August 22, 1969 in South Vietnam. He was serving as a Scout Helicopter Repairman in the Army’s 12th Aviation Group. He died in a non-hostile helicopter crash in the Binh Long Province, along with five other Americans. The 22-year-old Iowan was raised in Grinnell and achieved the rank of Specialist Five. His remains were buried at the Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.
