Michael Wayne Milner

Michael Milner grew up in Council Bluffs and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. After graduation he entered the Army and became part of the 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry of the 101st Airborne. His tour in Vietnam started in January 12, 1969. His unit was involved in the ten day assault on Hamburger Hill in May during which the 101st Airborne took heavy casualties dislodging an entrenched North Vietnam position. Corporal Milner died from hostile fire. He was buried in Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Council Bluffs.
