Biography:
Myllin Gerald Henrich was born in Akron and graduated from Akron High School in the class of 1964. He attended the University of South Dakota in Vermillion for one year before transferring to Loras College in Dubuque. Henrich graduated from Loras in 1968 with a Bachelor of Arts degree before joining the Army that November. He served in South Vietnam and Cambodia as a tank commander with the 11th Armored Cavalry. SSGT Henrich was killed on the night of June 23, 1970 when his tank was attacked by hostile mortar fire. His funeral and burial took place at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church and Cemetery located in Akron.
