Patrick Joseph Trotter

Patrick Joseph Trotter grew up in Fort Dodge and joined the Army after graduating high school. He trained as a UH-1 Huey helicopter repairman. SP4 Trotter was sent to South Vietnam in May 1970. He was assigned to the61st Assault Helicopter Command with the 1st Aviation Brigade in the Binh Dinh Province. SP4 Trotter was killed on February 4, 1971 during an accidental fire on base. He was 20 years old at the time of his death. His body was returned to Iowa and buried at the Corpus Christi Cemetery in Fort Dodge.
