Biography:
Paul George Hamilton Jr. was raised in Des Moines and graduated Saydel High School in the class of 1964. Later he attended Mankato State College in Minnesota. Hamilton enlisted in the Army in the spring of 1967 and he was sent to South Vietnam that November. PFC Hamilton died three weeks into his year tour on December 13, 1967. The Dak To Airfield was attacked by enemy rockets, artillery, and mortar fire. Two other Americans were killed during the bombardment. Hamilton was 21 years old at the time of his death. He left behind a sister, his parents, a girlfriend, and an unborn child.
