Biography:
Paul Houston Gray was born in San Antonio, Texas and lived for a time in Sergeant Bluff with his mother. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in July 1966. Gray arrived in Vietnam in late 1966 and served as a machine gunner in Company D, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines in Quang Ngai Province near Binh Son air field. He was killed February 24th by hostile fire while his platoon returned to base with a Viet Cong suspect. Private First Class Gray was buried in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
