Richard Charles Westberg

Richard C. Westberg grew up in Marshalltown, Iowa and graduated from St. Mary's High School, class of 1962. He arrived in Vietnam on February 7, 1968 and served as an Infantry Direct Fire Crewman with the 3rd Battalion, 39th Infantry. Private First Class Westberg died March 10, 1968 as a result of a gunshot wound received when his road clearing unit was ambushed in Long An Province, South Vietnam. He was buried in Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown, Iowa.
