Biography:
Richard Stansbarger grew up in the Clinton area. After high school he joined the Army and trained in the artillery. His tour in Vietnam began on October 9, 1970 with the 1st Battalion, 82nd Artillery. Private First Class Stansbarger was killed near Khe Sanh in a vehicle accident while his unit was supporting the South Vietnamese incursion into Laos in March. He was buried in Pine Grove Cemetery in Clinton.
