Biography:
Robert Jan Cobb grew up on farm near the small community of Webster in Keokuk County. After finishing English Valley High School, he joined the Army as a rifleman. He arrived in Vietnam in June 1968 and was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry stationed in Darlac Province in the Central Highlands. Private First Class Cobb took part in a patrol on September 4 in which he was killed but his body was not recovered. He was reported missing until located on September 12. His remains were returned to the United States and buried in North English Cemetery.
