Robert Wilbur Deyo Jr

PFC Robert Wilbur Deyo Jr. graduated West High School in Waterloo in the class of 1965. He later attended Westmar College in La Mars. He was associated with his father in Deyo and Company, Inc. of the Black Hawk Building before entering the Army. PFC Deyo was killed while on a combat mission with the 4th Infantry Division. His unit was engaged in a firefight with hostile forces when he suffered a fatal gunshot wound on November 17, 1967. PFC Dayo was buried at the Garden of Memories in Waterloo.
