Biography:
Air Force SGT Russell Jay Sisley of Carter Lake was killed on Monday, June 16, 1966 in South Vietnam. He served in the military for over 18 years at the time of his death. SGT Sisley was sent to Southeast Asia in January 1966 where he served as a security police superintendent in the Quang Tri Province. He died in a non-hostile vehicle accident. One other American from New Jersey was also killed in the crash. SGT Sisley was 38 years old at the time of his death. His body was buried in the West Lawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park in Omaha, NE.
