Samuel W Walthour Jr

Samuel W. Walthour Jr. was born in New Jersey in 1949. He moved with his parents to Waterloo in 1966. He graduated in the class of 1967 from Waterloo West High School. He attended Westminster Presbyterian Church. Walthour entered the Army in November 1967. SP4 Walthour served with the Special Forces and arrived in Vietnam in April 1969. He was killed on July 30, 1969 while on a combat operation, originally listed as missing in action yet later confirmed killed. He was 19 years old at the time of his death.
