Steven Lee Wissink

Steven Lee Wissink attended Dunkerton schools and graduated high school in the class of 1967. He was a member of Saint John’s Lutheran Church in the Bennington Township. Wissink joined the Marine Corps in 1968. The 19 year old LCPL Wissink was killed while on a patrol by enemy fire in Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam on February 13, 1969. Unmarried, he was buried by his parents and four siblings in the Saint John’s Lutheran Cemetery in the Bennington Township.
